BEHIND BIZNAX

Sources & Citation Policy

Biznax uses citations to show where information comes from and help readers examine the evidence behind supplier profiles, sourcing guides, comparisons, and tools. This policy explains how sources should be selected, attributed, and presented alongside our Research Standards and Editorial Policy.

Sources must support the specific claim. A reference should substantiate the statement attached to it, rather than merely concern the same company or topic. Linking to a supplier’s homepage is insufficient when the relevant information appears only in a particular catalog, filing, technical sheet, or certificate.

Prefer original material. Official business records, company documents, product specifications, relevant standards, regulators, and certification bodies can provide direct evidence within their respective scopes. Specialist publications and other secondary sources may provide interpretation or context. Their reliability should be assessed according to authorship, evidence, relevance, and date.

Company material must be attributed appropriately. A supplier’s website can establish that it advertises a product or claims a capability. It does not, by itself, independently confirm performance, production capacity, certification validity, or compliance. Wording should preserve that distinction.

Make references identifiable. Where available, a citation should include the author or issuing organization, page or document title, publication or revision date, and a direct link. Relevant page numbers, sections, tables, certificate identifiers, or document versions should be included when they help readers locate the evidence. Record an access date for changeable online information.

Biznax may use descriptive hyperlinks, source notes, or reference lists according to the page format. No single academic citation style is required, but references should be consistent and understandable. Important claims should have citations nearby; a general bibliography must not conceal which source supports which statement.

Supplier profiles should connect important fields to their supporting sources wherever practical. Sources for identity, product offerings, and certifications may differ. An overall source list must not suggest that every listed detail has received the same level of checking.

Cite what was actually examined. Search snippets, AI responses, and references copied from another article are not substitutes for reading the relevant material. If an original document is unavailable, identify the secondary source actually consulted and make the limitation clear. Do not imply access to a full report when only its abstract or summary was reviewed.

Repeated descriptions across several directories should be traced to their origin where possible. Repetition does not create independent corroboration. Conflicting sources require examination of their dates, scope, and authority; unresolved differences should be disclosed.

Preserve meaning when quoting or summarizing. Quotations must reproduce the source accurately and retain relevant context. Omissions or editorial additions should be clear. Paraphrases must use original wording while crediting the underlying information. Translations should identify the original source and preserve its meaning.

Explain figures and calculations. Numerical claims require units, currency, period, geography, and conditions where relevant. Calculated results should distinguish sourced inputs, user-entered values, and editorial assumptions. Tools and comparisons should identify the method sufficiently for readers to understand or reproduce the result.

Images, diagrams, and adapted tables require appropriate source credits and compliance with applicable permissions and licenses. An illustration must not be presented as documentary evidence of a supplier’s facilities or products.

Handle private and changing sources carefully. Private correspondence should be identified appropriately without exposing confidential details. Archived pages require clear date context. Broken or changed links should be reviewed, with updated references or explanations where necessary. A replacement source must still support the claim.

AI-generated references must be checked against real, accessible material under the AI Policy. Commercial relationships must not determine whether a source is treated as authoritative.

Readers can report missing, inaccurate, or misleading citations through the Contact Us page. Include the relevant URL and supporting evidence. Substantive errors are addressed under the Corrections Policy.
